FarmPrint a form of insurance - 4th Aug 2014

The Otago Daily Times have run a story on FarmPrint- a new service Oritain is offering farmers as a stock theft countermeasure.

Stock theft is a growing problem - Federated Farmers have estimated it was costing the farming community about $120 million each year.

To address this issue, Oritain has launched a new initiative- FarmPrint- a service offered to deter stock rustlers and protect farmers stock.

By collecting and analysing samples (meat/hair/soil) provided by a farmer in relation to a farm, Oritain can determine the 'fingerprint' of that particular farm and if that stock was ever stolen, there will be evidence to track it back to its farm of origin.
